OUGD603: Brief 15 - YCN Yorkshire Tea // Labelling Development 02

As we were moving an a different direction from railway signage. We went back to the banners and tried to expand on them – creating something which can hold multiple forms of information, in one. The tea type, the tagline and the quantity.

I tried making a content box, with a banner wrapped around it. Using the banner as an inter sector, to divide the content box into two, whilst also making an area of content in itself. Which was perfect to house all three copy elements that we were after.

Adam hates rounded edges – he suggested we reduce the amount of rounding on the edges of the boxes, to add an aspects of sharpness to the design. The rounded edges appealed to a much younger audience, more children than adults, so sharpening them helps hit out 18-30 audience range.

We tried removing the upper section of the original content box, to draw more attention to the 'Let's have a proper brew' tagline. We feel this achieves this.

Again, reducing the rounded edges for the same reason as above.

The full range of banners, in all the colours from the Yorkshire Tea brand. With their associated blends stated above the banner, with the exception of the original.

On a smaller scale, the banners don't really work as effectively, you struggle to read it. Increasing the weight of the font, and the point size ever so slightly solves that problem.
