OUGD603: Brief 4 - The Last Drop // Logo Development 01

I'm developing some initial ideas for the logotype/symbol for The Last Drop. Based on the research previously conducted and the 'old' logo, which wasn't really designed – it's just a warped typeface. Which worked as a place holder, however the crawl really needs something substantial and developed to represent it.

Using the method I've adopted from Aaron Draplin, I began by writing logo down continuously in different formats. To see if anything jumps out, or if any ideas come at me from the type.

Additional sketches, exploring how adding imager such as a banner might work to add to the look and feel of the logo.

The first concept is based upon that of The Bridge 1859 – depicting what it name represents quite literally. In this case, The Last Drop Pub, in the heart of York. The final calling point of the crawl.

It looks decent, it's a nice illustration, however, because of it's detail it wouldn't work on a smaller scale – something simpler would work better due it's diversity on a range of scales.
